I took my car in here for the first time for a brake, rotor and caliper replacement. I was in a hurry and asked if they could have it completed the next day by 10:30 am. They promised.
At 10:20 am they called and it was done.
Not only did they honor my request for a 10:30 completion, but they gave me several price options for different quality of parts, performed a complete inspection showing my upcoming maintenance, and rotated my tires.
Joel and Freddie were very professional and honest. This is our families new repair shop!

El Mechanico saved the day! I had my car at a different mechanic near by,  and after countless weeks and an insane amount of $$$, they were unable to fix my car.  I then moved my vehicle to El Mechanico, and they were able to diagnose and fix my car in a matter of days.  These guys know what they are doing.  They were very honest with me and did a superb job.  They have earned a life time customer.

Two years ago they replaced the engine on my 2002 Chrysler Sebring Convertible. It has run great ever since. They gave the lowest price of three quotes. I worked to find the best and most economical replacement engine and I ended up going with a lesser know outfit.  They worked with me to make certain that I got the right rebuilt engine and checked the seller's specs to confirm that I was getting a proper install kit. With their help, I saved about $1000 compared to replacements offered by Jasper and Chrysler. I'm very happy with the work, very happy with the price, and very happy with the car. It was a real pleasure to work with the guys.  Since then they've taken good care of small problems with my pickup truck. I won't take my work anywhere else. They have a small storefront snuggled between Livermore Muffler Shop and Avis. Don't blink or you'll miss them. On 1st St. just south of the intersection with Portola but on the opposite side of the road.

VERY trustworthy shop.  They did an AC repair for me in the middle of the summer - thank goodness!  My husband just brought in his vehicle and Manny and the rest of the team have provided amazing customer service and had him stop in to look at what was going on with his transmission / clutch.  It's worth an extra drive even if you are not in Livermore!

I am thoroughly blown away by the level of service El Mecanico offers. It is very easy to ignore car problems but these guys found everything wrong with my beloved high mileage car and fixed it very fast.  Every problem with my car was explained, written out, and all the worn parts were shown to me after they were removed.  They drove me home after dropping off my car. I don't know how they managed to get so much done, find and replace so many essential parts in such a short time.  
I feel like my car has been renewed and it feels smoother, sharper than it has in years. Now that I know how reasonable their rates are for oil changes and tire rotations, I'll definitely be making them my preferred mechanic from now on. Manny and everyone else on their team was polite and professional at every step.  It's a five star rating because they absolutely deserve it.

This place was friendly, quick, and helpful. I did not get any actual work done other than a quick diagnosis and some coolant but they definitely seemed to know what they were doing and genuinely trying to help. Keep up the good work!

WOW El Mecanico Truck & Auto is by far the BEST mechanic shop around! I've been taking all of my cars plus referring them business for over two years! Entire staff are very friendly, honest, knowledgeable, extremely clean in the office plus in their garage area and very reasonably priced too!!!! 10 plus stars!

This gem of a mechanic shop is awesome. Small but they do a better job...for less money... Than the dealer. And I got more info on my car than I ever got from the dealer. Frelic and crew are fantastic. They explain everything in detail. I took my car I because it needed new tires and something was wrong with the windshield washer pump.  Not only did they fix the pump but they brought me the broken unit and explained what happened and how they fixed it. With the tires, they told me two places to get quotes from because those places could sometimes do them cheaper.  When I got all three quotes, El Mecanico was least expensive. The replacement of the pump was going to take longer than expected, so they drove me home so I didn't have to wait! They are fantastic, honest and a pleasure to work with.
